Analysis of Anti-Homeless Architecture in New York

Most cities have implemented architectural strategies that dissuade homeless individuals from seeking shelter in public places, such as dividers on benches, sloped ledges, and spikes on flat surfaces.  I documented anti-homeless architecture in New York.  I pose my subject on those (architectural) structures. My goal is to display the subtle ways that urban planners modify architecture to deter homeless people from sleeping on or lingering in a certain place for a prolonged amount of time. My project is aimed to bring awareness to issues surrounding hostile architecture and spark conversations around ethical urban design.
